Final Declaration of the Estate

In Lebanon, heirs are required to submit a final declaration of the estate within six months of the deceased’s death or from the execution of a will. This step ensures the Ministry of Finance can calculate the exact inheritance taxes due before property and assets are transferred.

Required Documents:

  • Inheritance Ruling.

  • Will (if applicable).

  • Property documents (size, maps, municipal certificates).

  • Proof of real estate tax payment.

  • Company shares (commercial registry extract, financial statements).

  • Bank certificates of account balances.

  • Vehicle registrations.

  • Treasury bond certificates and stock records.

  • Documents proving debts of the deceased.

Conclusion: The final declaration allows the Ministry of Finance to calculate the exact taxes due before property transfers can take place.
